ARticQuest is an Augmented Reality (AR)-based board game designed to educate children aged 9 to 12 about sustainability and the impact of climate change on the Arctic. The game involves scanning cards with smartphones or tablets to initiate the AR experiences and mini-games, developed with the game engine Unity and Unity MARS.
Players engage in guided information delivery provided by animated characters using audio narration complemented by on-screen text. The game incorporates educational content tailored to the target age group.

POV is a complementary platform to Milano Partecipa, the digital platform of the Municipality of Milan for citizen participation which allows citizens over 16 years of age to publish petitions and propose referendums and, in the case of public offices, to broadcast citizens‘ consultations.
POV wants to encourage citizen participation in students. It targets middle school students so that they can learn to have their say, to propose and to plan projects. POV adapts a similar aesthetic and interaction to ones the target group is used to such as Instagram and TikTok, to catch their attention and meet their needs, but focused on idea generation and sharing in terms of civic engagement as well as upvoting on these ideas fast.
The app is accompanied by a web application for teachers, which allows them to validate the students‘ ideas and forward them to the Municipality of Milan.
Its main role is in the student’s proposal management process, thus a more functional than creative tool.

TreeViz serves as a powerful tool to assist the climate transition team in public administration with informed decision-making related to tree management. Leveraging artificial intelligence and data analysis, TreeViz provides valuable insights, visualizations, and recommendations, empowering decision-makers to optimize tree planting, maintenance, and care strategies.
The dashboard includes a map interface that identifies suitable areas for tree planting in Milan. The dashboard utilizes an AI system that employs image segmentation techniques to identify suitable tree planting locations in the Metropolitan City of Milan. The system is trained using a dataset consisting of satellite images covering the entire city, along with hand-labeled potential tree planting areas. The model architecture, is employed to learn the spatial characteristics and patterns associated with these locations. The trained model is capable of processing new satellite images and generating pixel-level segmentation masks that highlight potential tree planting areas.

Investigating Transfer Learning for continuous End-of-Turn Prediction in Spoken Dialogue: Turn-taking coordination is one of the most fundamental aspects of dialogue and takes place fluently in human conversation. Predicting the end of a turn has been shown to be an essential aspect of this behaviour and should therefore be applied in spoken dialogue systems to achieve natural human-computer conversation.
When turning to machine learning methods to solve this task, a number of hand-designed sound features are classically used as data features. This work builds on the recent deep learning revolution and instead relies on learned features obtained by self-supervised training of deep neural networks on raw audio data. The effect of these features through transfer learning is examined on the end-of-turn prediction task
